On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Legal Epistemology Workshop was held as the third edition of the Epistemology Sessions at the Instituto Gioja, Faculty of Law, University of Buenos Aires.

The event was jointly organized by Grupo Contingencia (IIF-SADAF/CONICET), the Programa de Actualización en Razonamiento Probatorio (UBA), and the Instituto Gioja (UBA), bringing together researchers interested in the intersections between epistemology and law.

Program

The workshop ran from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the following presentations:

  • 2:00 - 3:00 PM: Florencia Rimoldi and Pablo Rovatti Commentary: Ivana Galit Rubin

  • 3:00 - 4:00 PM: Bruno Bianco Commentary: Alejo Joaquín Giles

  • 4:00 - 4:30 PM: Coffee break

  • 4:30 - 5:30 PM: Mauro Santelli Commentary: Victoria Hernandez Lehmann

  • 5:30 - 7:00 PM: Leandro De Brasi Commentary: Diana Veleda and Andrea Simal Isolio

The workshop addressed central topics in epistemology applied to the legal domain, including discussions on models of assertion, the judicial context, and evidentiary questions, fostering a rich exchange between philosophers and legal scholars.
